How you secure your Hardware Wallets seed words will depend on how much cryptocurrency you have stored on your device as well as your budget.
One the most secure methods is to own a Cryptosteel or letter punch your seed onto a steel or titanium plate. Then depending on how you feel about banks, either store the Cryptosteel or metal plate (with tamper-proof seals) in a safety deposit or a secret secure location of your choice.
A more economical option, is simply a paper and keep it somewhere safe and secure.
It is completely ill advised to store your recovery seed any note taking app, computer, cloud storage, Google Drive, or Dropbox due to the risk of your computer getting hacked and your seed words being stolen.
Purchasing a new USB for the sole purpose of storing your recovery seed is a good idea, but only if you don’t intend to utilize the USB for anything else.
Even so, only store your recovery seed on a USB device after you have another copy stored in another location. USB drives do fail and can be lost.
It’s never a great idea to rely solely on technology for storing crucial and extremely sensitive data.
